It depends on what accepts your score. For UK/AU immigration: IELTS or PTE. For US universities: TOEFL or IELTS. For European universities or employers: Cambridge English. For cheap and fast: Duolingo English Test (if accepted). Always check your target institution's accepted-tests list first.

Both are accepted. Cambridge results never expire, which is a long-term advantage. IELTS results expire in 2 years. If you plan to keep your score for life (work, multiple applications), Cambridge wins. If you need it within 2 years for one application, IELTS is fine.
